on saturday 10th september, the atmospheric setting of a stone quarry near ruvo di puglia was the background for the event 'light in the quarry', organised by domenico de palo in collaboration with Viabizzuno. during the evening mario nanni presented the book For m before an audience of two thousand people. dancer sabrina speranza, accompanied by the voice of soprano cristina gianelli, gave a performance which brought together light, music, and movement, with choreography by domenico iannone. the presence of overhanging volumes cut in the stone offered an opportunity for presenting DOdò, the new lamp by Viabizzuno, designed by domenico de palo. the lamp, switched on at the dancer's touch, was the protagonist of the display. 'nothing remains indifferent in the presence of a mass which seeks to express itself, held back by the timidity of absolute darkness … a veil of light covered the emptiness of the quarry, waiting for the perfect moment to become theatre … where material, sound, water and light merge in synaesthesia translated into one single … emotion' (domenico de palo)
