The exhibited products are the principal subjects and they come to life within the films thanks to a spatial light. The light of the italian design museum is so variable and dynamic. It is a discreet light that intensifies the spatial properties of the objects. As the images pass on the screen, the objects exist and come to life within the film. Delicate cuts of light surround the products, enabling the visitors to appreciate the space around the pieces. They are luminous signs that create small rooms of light, small immaterial spaces in which the objects are placed. It is essential to visit the museum when the films are showing and to observe the timing of the dynamic light of the images to discover the works of the italian design. It is essential to stop, pause and sit on the big sofas to discover that the light illuminating the objects changes as the images change. The work also presents another highly innovative feature. The cuts of light, their spatial and accent light, have been produced for the first time using t5 fluorescent tubes. Fluorescent fittings, which are so much associated with industrial design, acquire a new application in this project. The tubes are housed inside the c2 profiles surrounding the products, they follow the lines of showcases and drop down from the ceiling. Every section of profile has been made to measure, almost like tailoring. By means of small openings or slots formed on site, it has been possible to compress the diffused light from the fluorescent fittings into very precise rays of light. The result is an illumination that is completely focused on the forms and details of the objects, with full regard also for energy saving. It is the emotion of nothing: light that defines and creates spaces, accentuating details to which focus attention, without even knowing why.
