close to the seine and to the alma bridge, this prestigious apartment in haussmann style houses a splendid orthodontic office. the authentic quality of the spaces has been preserved over the course of time in the wood facings and in the moulding, enhanced by discreet concealed lighting. the project aims to recover and enhance these aspects of the place, maintaining the distinctive domestic character despite having changed its intended use. the function of treatment, allied to innovative techniques, makes it imperative to communicate an image of avant-garde surroundings and precision, thus resulting in the decision to use the light in order to convey these twin virtues of the place: the pioneering, no-frills character befitting a modern clinic and the sobriety and formal cleanliness that still manage to exalt the original beauty of the apartment. the treatment area has been dealt with leaving out of consideration the details. it was the intention of the project to make the best possible use of this luminous space to create a relaxed atmosphere, far removed from the usual image typical of a dentist's office. inside a huge entrance lobby, the reception area is distinguished by a much smaller volume, like a case of suspended materials, accentuated by lighting directed downwards. the passage leading to the waiting room is characterised by vela light fittings used to flood the passage with a pure white light that accentuates the formal cleanliness of the work without seeming overpowering in any way. the lobby leading to the various rooms is characterised by volumes painted white, very regular and enhanced by c2 light fittings which light the floor and ceiling. here all is contrast, in a recherché play of shadow and light.
