after miart in milan and 100% design in london, mario nanni also exhibited his way of making light in paris, showing that lighting can become an interactive element in the home: pictures, carpets, ceilings, tablecloths, sofas, sheets of light obtained by means of liv (lampadina a immagini variabili, the variable-image light bulb) manufactured by Viabizzuno. the sharing of space is the destination of this process of study and experimentation with liv variable image light bulbs. spectators have only to yield to their senses and are then immersed in a shower of water and light …or perhaps a shower of light bulbs? the huge white space is designed in such a way as to be simply the enclosure for the light show: a clean form, a white wooden floor, high empty walls. the visitor could be anywhere, inside the home or any other place in which he likes the idea of playing with light. the space is designed to leave our imagination fully free to dream that light even elsewhere: at home, in the office, in the local café, at school. living that light is what matters, everyone will take possession and then carry it off. and visitors understand this with their senses: they are offered an umbrella in order to pass beneath three steel kites that are raining water, light and light bulbs … but the purpose of the umbrella is not to keep off the water, but catch the light from the shower of light bulbs. the umbrellas become light bulbs, a different one for each step. there is nothing to shelter or run away from: you have simply to admire. crossing this space therefore becomes dream-like, sensual and full of perceptual stimuli right to the end when the visitor is escorted to the exit by the rhythmical swinging of seesawing light… two lovers saying goodbye in paris.
