Among the villas and the fortresses in the area of Parma, the Sala Baganza fortress was little known until the end of the Seventies, after the war it had been converted into a number of apartments and forgotten; later it was completely abandoned. Towards the end of the Eighties the part of the building dating back to the XVI century became publicly owned, an event which initiated a physical and cultural recovery of the whole monumental complex.
