just outside barcelona, in an area undergoing a major transformation, the pharmaceutical company galenicum brought its headquarters. the architectural project, realised by the harquitectes studio, was based on the redevelopment of a classic industrial building, with the aim of making it not only more sustainable from an energy point of view, but also more efficient for the work dynamics of the different departments. two types of lighting were designed for the entrance, with its characteristic concrete pillars: n55 with technical optics, designed by marionanni for Viabizzuno, follows the perimeter of the space providing direct illumination for the small lounges dedicated to informal meetings or moments of relaxation; the central area, lower than the perimeter and characterised by a single large wooden seat, is lit in a diffuse and delicate way by candela di vals, the iconic natural brass lamp designed by the master of architecture peter zumthor, whose elegant refinement creates a complementary link with the rigorous grey of the surrounding concrete. at the centre of the building there is the inner courtyard, the green heart of the headquarters, which contributes to the natural light amount and air exchange for the interior spaces. n55 parete with lensoptica marks the walking path through the garden: in terms of shape and finish, this lighting solution blends perfectly with the aesthetics of the site without disappearing, ensuring maximum light quality with very low energy consumption. the different departments are organised in circles at the centre of which is a common green area, illuminated by cubo 15. each workstation has its own dedicated lighting provided by traccia meno and microtraccia tracks with trentotto and ecomini spotlights. traccia sistema is the Viabizzuno solution that allows endless configurations thanks to its different aluminium profiles, each of which has one or more grooves in which different Viabizzuno luminaires can be installed. the position of each light source can be easily changed by the individual person, who can thus build his or her own personalised workstation.
