water and light are the outright protagonists in the pie'n polus spa space, in Seoul: two elements at the same time material and spiritual to create a wellness place for the body and the mind. the project of architects giuliana salmaso and claudio silvestrin chooses natural materials, large volumes, gradual transits between interiors, spatial feelings of purity and abstraction; the great attention to detail exalts the moment of personal use of the spa as a one-of-a-kind and special experience. light is conceived in total harmony with the architectural project to highlight the delicacy of these interiors, becoming an intangible but necessary element for creating the right atmosphere and conveying the emotion of the place. integrating with the architectural solution of space and detail of the fixed and moving furnishings, to always hide the light source, the lighting is discreet but careful to arouse feelings, from time to time different, according to the type of activities performed in the spa: wellness, relaxation, vitality, meditation… in some applications, the use of the coloured light of the LEDs becomes a chromotherapy and communication element, with special focus on the use of the blue klein colour which ties the presence of the water to that of light and art. this concept is also skilfully made evident in the baths and pools, creating sensorial effects that tie the colour to the temperature.
