an extremely complex project and a particularly demanding commission, requiring great attention to detail and directed towards the world of fashion, in constant uproar: this is the starting point for the impulse to transform a characteristic historic building of the outskirts of brescia which, specifically because of this origin, demanded a classic, spatial repositioning within the town fabric and, at the same time, a revolution in style which would allow it to stand out, by adapting to its new commercial identity and to the third millennium changes. therefore the project, retaining a feature which is characteristic of the building, a splendid stable with a double row of columns and cross vaults, has designed a space for use as a show room, locating it within the overall building and raising the height of the entrance foyer so as to create a vertical prospect and an upward visual merging. at the same time, with an enormous open projection towards the garden, it has expanded the space, so as to make the outside an integral and fundamental part of the inside. the building stretches over three levels, where the ground floor and the first floor are essentially given over to sales and linked by an imposing self-supporting stairway, which appears to float against the background of the glass window overlooking the garden. the internal space is a neutral, open envelope, enhancing the sophisticated refinement of the products and described by strongly characterising elements which take the place of the classic structures linked to simple daily work. the neutral tone of an extremely compact egyptian stone, with cream-coloured shading; the pleasant warmth of an oak tree, distilled and preserved, and the large "opus incerto" stone slabs, transporting the memories of squares, reinterpreting the concept and bestowing the same taste of antique memory both internally and externally. wall materials in cement base and antique, spot-faced plasters have added layers of colour, giving the ambience an absolutely contemporary but, at the same time, antique glaze, and contrasting with furnishing elements of a nomadic spirit, designed to be repositioned and to confer versatility on the whole space. on the first floor, the colours deliberately do not change but gather together different materials, producing an area of unusual domesticity. in this space, a great airiness emerges and astonishes; this, from above, weaves into colour shades the origins of which are not apparent, capturing light and form and enthralling the spectator: this is "the bookcase", with its three-dimensional surfaces coated with liquid titanium powders. great importance has also been given to management of the settings through domotics and a careful lighting project, guaranteeing the microcontrol of internal and external illumination, while the creation of ever fresh and repeatable settings has ensured a dynamic ambience not depending on natural light variations.
