the atmosphere of this wine shop is inspired by shops, dark and dim, with rarefied light and rough materials, related to the world of wine, of nature and of reminiscent craftsmanship antique places. here you can breathe the richness and value of wine, a handmade luxury product. space has been organized in two areas: one for the store and bar counter that communicates with the exterior, and one for the restaurant, more quite, placed in the rear. the store, that sells all products of the torres brand, presents a high rack that runs all around the shop, exposing the merchandise and stocking goods. the matt varnished mass oak shelve-system is assembled with black iron; a square shaped structure has been created to store bottles vertically or laid. vineyard topography of the area is illustrated on varnished wooden sliding panels. on the two black bent iron tables placed in the center of the space we can find goods in special offer. the bar located at the entrance communicates with the outside and becomes the major attracting point; this area is thought for tasting wine along with appetizers. the front of the counter is made of rough granite just as the floor: obtaining therefore a sense of continuity. inside the rack's hollows 3 screens are placed to create ‘windows' with winery landscapes' images. instead the screens hanging above the bar counter show several sky images, that link to light's importance in grape cultivation, at the same time these screens produce ambiance lighting, in concert with peled that generate narrow, adjustable and flexible lights. a different flooring has been designed to mark the passage between the area of the bar and the one of restaurant: a warmer mood is created switching stone into oak planks. anthracite-coal colored walls are stroked by light marks that recreate wine-color reflexes. a big map realized in black brilliant vinyl, highlights the area of cultivation in the region of vilafranca de penedés. down at the end of this area a big mass oak table has been placed in order to invite people in eating together, here they can create their own favorite light, by positioning peled's long poles as preferred. the whole area is emphasized by a hanging wooden sheet ceiling. the significant height of the space (8 meters) has induced the architects in redesigning the ceiling: black cloths hanging warp parallel to the façade, shade off light until their sizereduces and converges with cloths hanging perpendicularly , the ceiling becomes therefore woven. the windows above the internal façade entrance door, have been covered with drill through metal sheet, that swap over with the bottles stacked in the square structures, reducing the amount of light that enters during the day.
