‘when we design spaces, we always work with both daylight and artificial light in relation to a defined surface. light and materiality are deeply interconnected. without a material to catch, reflect, or diffuse it, light has no real spatial presence. creating an immersive experience of this interplay between light and materiality was a central thought, when we developed the concept for the chandelier with Viabizzuno. here, the rhythm of the stones emphazises the interplay between light and materiality. and the thin aluminium plate creates a sense of buoyancy, making the stones appear as if they are floating in midair. when light hits the onyx it diffuses through its translucent surface, accentuating the intricate veining and subtle tonal variation, revealing the stone’s natural layers and warmth. the experience is both tactile and visual’.
