between dusk and dawn.
between dusk and dawn we get organised with lights that we ourselves make and turn on.
there is no comparison between these lights and day light, they are too weak and rather limited with their flickering intensity and long shadows.
but if i think of these lights, thatwe make, not as an attempt
tooust the night, but rather as lights of the night, as an accentuation of the night, as intimate places of light in the obscurity created by man, then they take on abeauteous quality, then they can reveal their magic.
what lights do we wish to use between dusk and dawn?
what dowe want to illuminate in ourhouses, cities and landscapes? how and for how long?
these are the questions of our culture.
