Khaite, a luxury brand specialising in women’s clothing and accessories with impeccable and unconventional designs, has opened its new flagship store in west hollywood.
the store is located in a historic, ivy-covered building at the corner of melrose place and melrose avenue.
designed by Griffin Frazer, the interior features large windows, premium materials, and immersive displays. building on the collaboration already established for the brand’s other boutiques, Viabizzuno was involved in implementing an artificial lighting project that would harmonise with the evocative natural light of los angeles and enhance the uniqueness of the architectural design and the exclusivity of the garments on display. integrating linear light into the dynamic surfaces of niches and perimeter walls gives the space depth and allows it to transform over the course of the hours and change with the seasons. the same texture, refined details and sophisticated craftsmanship sought for the furnishings have been applied to the Khaite garments on display. to enhance the finest garments, the lighting is almost museum-like, created through the use of n55 sagomatore, whose rigorously geometric beam frames the objects with crisp precision and outstanding colour rendering. in the central seating area, a bouquet of fiore hangs from the ceiling in the form of pendant lamps designed by the renowned architect Peter Zumthor. like a living, organic element, the lamp can adjust its angle and height thanks to its flexible tubular body, providing concentrated light without glare.
