2025 was an extraordinary year for Viabizzuno. building on our ongoing evolution and renewal, which began four years ago, we sought to implement a lasting transformation of our space in milan, strengthening the connection between the Viabizzuno space in via san marco and the city of milan. this responsible choice involved the redevelopment of the large outdoor area through repaving, combined with a new green space project.
the exterior of the laboratory has been transformed into a vibrant meeting place, returned to the city, fostering connections with the surrounding urban environment. the brushed concrete flooring incorporates aituoipiedi and ticablo, modular systems designed as a strategic solution for the distribution of electrical, network, and plumbing systems, ensuring flexibility, ease of maintenance and a clean aesthetic. this allows light, music, projections and other technological features to be concealed and delivered to every corner of the outdoor space.
moving from the social dimension of the large outdoor area to the more intimate interior, customers are welcomed by oltre, the refined chandelier designed for Viabizzuno by Dorte Mandrup. the showcases with micromen colonna are part of the display solution created by BBW&L, based on a design by Luca Guadagnino and Nicolò Rosmarini for ‘Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life’.
in the second room, which is dedicated to the residential and hospitality sectors, the star of the show is aura, designed by Snøhetta, which is available in single and multiple suspension versions, as well as a saliscendi suspension version. the stone panelling, which was created in collaboration with 70Materia, has integrated cisei sistema shelves and forms the backdrop to the room. it is complemented by a circular wooden table designed for meetings with guests and a tisoffio pendant lamp, creating the atmosphere of an elegant living room.
the heart of the laboratory’s design activity is located on the opposite side of the room. four large officina zumthor lights illuminate four workstations with diffused light, while a series of mn sistema scomparsa totale linear lights complete the diffused lighting in the room. under the arches of the large windows, the bi-emission and tunable white version of alba, designed by Stefano Belingardi, completes the composition with the warm light of its bronze anti-glare louvres.
in a new dedicated gallery at the centre of the renovated Viabizzuno light laboratory in milan, technical solutions are presented that are designed for application segments where flexibility, light quality and extremely low damage factors are essential, such as culture and retail. the potential and efficiency of Viabizzuno’s technical solutions are demonstrated through the various models in the trentotto, ecomini, n55 and sagomatore series. the technical gallery is framed by lightbox and tunable white and rgbw light panels, which are designed to meet any lighting, functional or communication requirement.
the last space, which corresponds to the entrance on via solferino 18, features the tunable white version of lenticchia, which has a diameter of 750 mm and was designed by Peter Zumthor. it is presented here alongside various versions of the iconic royal chandelier and coppibartali.
