SKS showroom

LG Electronics has opened its new SKS showroom, showcasing the company’s ultra-premium appliance brand, in chicago, a city renowned for its architectural and design heritage. named the ‘SKS theater’, this space aims to be a hub of innovation where customers can experience SKS’s ‘true to food’ philosophy and advanced technologies in an immersive environment. situated within the mart (one of north america’s leading destinations for kitchen and interior design professionals), the showroom enables designers, builders, and consumers to envision how SKS’s latest solutions can elevate modern living with style.

the design of the SKS showroom was entrusted to the internationally renowned architect Piero Lissoni. his minimalist approach and attention to detail have created a calm and refined atmosphere in the showroom, highlighting the natural integration of SKS products into high-end living environments.

Viabizzuno’s involvement in this project stems from LG’s desire to equip the exhibition space with a bespoke monumental chandelier. designed by Piero Lissoni new york, it is intended to serve as a spectacular focal point and an atmospheric device within the environment. the project takes the form of a concentric cascade of light: a suspended volume that plays with layers of transparency and refraction. depending on the viewing angle, the perception of the object changes: the image is never static, but is constructed through light vibrations and reflections that amplify depth and expand space.

the chandelier was created using essential construction elements: chrome-plated steel, glass tubes, and soft, linear 2700K leds.

its identity is asserted through the reduction of elements and the precision of assembly. the richness of the lighting effects stems from the double ring of leds and glass tubes that comprise its structure: a two-module system capable of generating up to eight independent light sources.

this design feature enables precise control over the diffusion and distribution of light along the entire length of the light fitting, ensuring compositional balance and perceptual consistency. it does not merely illuminate the space, but becomes its narrative device, offering an iconic presence that interprets the brand’s technological identity through rigorous formal synthesis and sophisticated research into luminous matter.
