the transformation of polytoren is a prime example of vision and collaboration. having once been a thriving polymer factory (1955-2012), it has now been transformed into a dynamic business hub that honours its industrial heritage while embracing sustainability, creativity, and well-being.
Alinso, a developer specialising in industrial and office real estate, has moved its headquarters here. with the renovation project entrusted to studio POLO for the architecture and Shake design & build for the interior design, the company has set itself the goal of creating a high-level, professional, welcoming working environment that complies with the highest standards of well-being in the workplace. from a technical and architectural perspective, an advanced lighting concept was developed, achieving a finely calibrated balance between functional workspaces, the majestic entrance – also conceived as a versatile venue for events and exhibitions – and a thoughtful dialogue with the surrounding environment.
the lighting design was conceived to complement the architectural transformation of this building, while also enhancing the textures of the materials and breathing new life into them. using traccia sistema with single-module coppibartali and ecomini spotlights proved to be a strategic solution for areas dedicated to socialising and events, where a high level of flexibility in lighting scenarios and set-ups is required. above the billiard table, tubino sospensione provides diffused light over the entire playing surface. lenticchia, designed by renowned architect Peter Zumthor, elegantly illuminates an area slightly separated from the rest of the space, while lucecontinua was chosen for the more formal and reserved main meeting room.
