energy efficiency and renewal are the key points that guided the renovation of Raiffeisen Bank’s premises in Lugano. The Jpa Antorini studio, to which the project was entrusted, focused on the external and internal elements of the building at via pretorio 22 to give the bank a modern character and image and to ensure that the institution’s goals of maximum sustainability were met.
in addition to the construction of a new façade, which now provides high thermal efficiency and more natural light, the project also addressed a reorganisation of the interior spaces. The lighting design had to ensure the highest quality of light, advanced technology oriented towards energy efficiency and a minimalist elegance that would enhance the spaces without detracting from the architectural design. The hall of Raiffeisen Bank welcomes its clients with an ambient light delivered by 094 with n55 spotlight, while the reception area has its own dedicated light with n55 sospensione and gt01 decorative glass, the unusual shape of which creates movement without sacrificing the minimalist style of the space. The floors allocated to the various offices consist of open spaces with ceilings incorporating a grid of mn sistema track and fully concealed version. This solution represents excellence in terms of technology and performance, as the quality of light is very high and guarantees outstanding levels of illumination on the work desks for the benefit of employees, while minimising energy consumption.
maximum flexibility is also ensured, as the light fittings can easily be repositioned to suit new requirements in the event of spatial reorganisation or the relocation of furniture.
the n55 sospensione with the classic hm02 diffuser, which delivers diffused light with no glare, is found in the areas dedicated to meetings or socialising. The small in-house café is also lit by n55 soffitto with wm01 decorative glass. The meeting rooms and management offices are separated by semi-transparent panels which can be modulated to suit specific requirements.
the flexibility needed by these spaces is reflected in the lighting, which is always provided by mn sistema. The project of banca Raiffeisen Lugano was conceived with the intention of creating a place that would encourage interaction, the accessibility of which was linked by a functional lighting design. The combination of architecture, natural light and artificial light ensured that this building creates a strong link between interior and exterior, promoting the exchange between the bank and city.

mn sistema
IP40-rated system with direct light for indoor use made of an oxidised aluminium body and matt black light trap, designed by Marionanni for Viabizzuno .
the system finds application in those environments where precise control of visual comfort and glare is required, such as in offices and workspaces. The two beam widths guarantee correct lighting performance depending on the installation pitch and ceiling height. In particular, the use of the 44° beam is suitable for application on higher ceilings and for achieving the highest score on leed and well certifications; for low ceilings the 70° beam is more suitable, as it allows excellent illuminance UniFormity with a competitive luminaire spacing. The highest quality of light is therefore supported by high performance in terms of energy saving and environmental sustainability, thanks to the very low consumption and recyclability of the materials. The minimalist style, the wide range of sizes, finishes and types of application make mn sistema a highly flexible solution, able to integrate naturally into any type of working environment. Its infinite configurations that can be easily remodelled and customised make it adaptable from time to time to spaces that change and respond to new working needs. The solution is completed by the sound-absorbing component ilsilenzio.
