Kith – a multipurpose lifestyle brand for men, women and children with state-of-the-art boutiques in the United States and Europe - was founded in 2011, inspired by the entrepreneurial dream of Ronnie Fieg, born and bred in Queens, New York.
after twenty years of experience in the footwear industry, where he started out as a warehouse operator and worked his way up to head buyer, Fieg conceived Kith with the intention of changing the current fashion scene, determined to offer his customers an experience that goes beyond the mere purchase of clothing. what distinguishes these boutiques is their respect for native artistic, architectural and decorative elements, which don’t succumb to the brand’s design style. The search for authenticity is reflected in the elegance of the materials and finishes in unusual spaces, in which the iconic plaster sneakers installation is present in different shapes, sizes and positions.
Viabizzuno entered the Kith universe in 2021, when the New York-based brand arrived in Europe, settling in the golden triangle of Paris. Located in the historic and very elegant threestorey Pershing Hall Building, the Kith boutique in Paris is the brand’s largest, occupying almost 4900 square metres, and offers customers the ultimate experience. The project was entrusted to the New York-based studio Snarkitecture, which interpreted the Kith philosophy in architectural and design forms. Finding the right light for a space of this scale and scope was certainly a design challenge, from the majestic Carrara marble entrance with the characteristic plaster shoes suspended from the ceiling, to the double-height inner courtyard with its multicoloured Carrara marble floor, surmounted by a large skylight and bounded by a wall covered entirely in vegetation. A1 tracks with n55 spotlights are installed on the ceiling structure, discreetly and elegantly providing diffused lighting inspired by the natural light that usually streams through the large skylight, enhancing the exquisiteness of the materials. The columns at the sides of the tables feature silère, designed by David Chipperfield, which, with its minimal and decisive lines, casts a downward light, like that of wall sconces, evoking the french town squares of the belle epoque. An impressive Carrara marble staircase takes customers from the ground floor to the first floor, dedicated to clothing and sneakers. A chandelier made of plaster sneakers with integrated Viabizzuno light, completely customised to suit the shapes and dimensions of the installation that represents the brand, dominates the ceiling.
