Nestled among the elegant buildings of the central via dell’annunciata in Milan, the showroom of Officine Gullo – Italian excellence in the handcrafted production of luxury kitchens – blends harmoniously and discreetly into the urban architecture, while at the same time making itself recognisable with its street-level windows that gradually reveal the brand’s most exclusive complements. The complete restyling of the space, commissioned to the Milan-based Superspatial studio, was conceived to offer an innovative showcase experience inspired by the concept of the ‘urban quarry’: a sequence of pure volumes and architectural movements in which natural stone platforms on different levels become stage sets for the presentation and enhancement of Officine Gullo’s creations. The dialogue between the materials represents the brand’s technological research and at the same time the craftsmanship that characterises it.
Entering the Officine Gullo space in Milan means immersing yourself in a parallel experience and at the same time communicating with the outside environment. With these premises, the lighting design was developed as much to dialogue with natural light as to emphasise the idea of a space created by subtraction of matter. The need to respond to the requirements of a dynamic space, where fittings can change, has been fulfilled with the application of microtraccia. The perfect integration of the tracks in the suspended ceiling respects the architectural cleanliness sought for the showroom, ensuring the possibility of changing the type and positioning of the light fittings integrated in the tracks making the creation of new lighting scenarios easy. N55 spotlights – characterised by very high performance with minimal energy consumption – provide direct illumination of kitchens, enhancing their finishes and precious details. Coppibartali in the single module version for traccia sistema illuminates the room in a diffused way, dialoguing with the materials of the accessories on display. Above the kitchen islands, n55 sospensione with decorative glass or technical optics create a more intimate atmosphere.
At the end of the tour there is a majestic bespoke kitchen, anticipated by a showcase structure built entirely with traccia sistema in which samples of materials and finishes are presented, illuminated punctually by micromen spotlights. Conceptually, the two elements are related by the capability of showing the mastery in the creation of customised solutions in which functionality and aesthetic research contribute to the creation of unique elements.

traccia sistema
traccia sistema, design by Marionanni and Antonio Barbieri, allows the construction of infinite configurations thanks to its different profiles made of extruded oxidized aluminium, available in lengths 2000mm or 3000mm: microtraccia, microtraccia scomparsa totale, tracciameno, tracciapiù, tracciatì, tracciaelle, tracciae, mensolonatraccia. All profiles are available in argento hacca and nero55 finishes. Tracciapiù profile can be further customized coating it in any kind of material like wood, recycled plastic, aluminum, etc. Thanks to the electrified quick joint, with traccia sistema you can design electrified exhibition structures, bookshelves, wardrobes with hangers and orizontal and inclinate shelves, using vertical tracciapiù struts for ground-ceiling installation by fixing lower and upper adjustable feet Ø80mm, or ground-wall using a base of Ø350mm. Each profile has one or more grooves in which is possible to install a 24Vdc cable having a 10. 6x4. 2mm section with 2x1. 5mm² conductors, compatible with several Viabizzuno products. This allows the system to be used to build ever new lighting designs, which can be easily customised and modified as needs change. Compatible Viabizzuno light solutions are micromen, trentotto, ecomini spotlights, n55 orientabile, n55 sospensione, n55 with tige h. 350mm configurable with silk lampshade, n35, n22, 13x8 linear light, peled sospensione, coppibartali 1 module, electrified or induction showcases. Furthermore each traccia sistema structure can be implemented with expositive shelves, catchalls, glass bells or customisable wooden elements.
