Teatro della Cometa, in rome, a unique venue in the heart of the eternal city, has reopened to the public several years after it shut down.
Maria Grazia Chiuri and her daughter Rachele Regini have given new life to the beauty of a precious location, an international landmark since 1958, the year of its inauguration by countess Mimì Pecci Blunt. Viabizzuno is proud to join in a project intended to restore this theatre to its role as an innovative cultural centre. the renovation – carried out by architects Andrea Panzini and Fabio Tudisco – preserves and enhances Tomaso Buzzi’s original design, featuring a view of the campidoglio through six windows. this provides the ideal backdrop for such a stage.
the lighting design follows the theme of the comet. indeed, the original comet-shaped lamps designed by Tomaso Buzzi have been preserved. restored by Open Care, they merge with Viabizzuno lighting solutions. new light fittings based on n35 technology featuring compact flexibility have also been created, designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri with marionanni and Viabizzuno. wall sconces mark the boxes in the main hall, while n35 parete soffitto light fittings shed a soft glow in the foyer’s seating area. in the private lounge, instead, n35 terra and n35 parete con braccio create an intimate atmosphere, gently emphasising the warm hues of the wooden ceiling beams.
the bright brass finish enhances the interior with discrete elegance, while high quality Viabizzuno technology guarantees excellent lighting performance with minimal energy consumption.
