Blanc Restaurant in Paris – a few steps from the Place Trocadero – is born from the vision of chef Shinichi Sato, is a sanctuary of light and matter, where architecture becomes a sensorial experience. Entirely designed by the Kengo Kuma & associates studio, the space reveals itself with elegance, immersed in a delicate aura that filters time and the city, welcoming those who cross the threshold into a universe of harmony and purity.
In the interior, the material tells a story of balance and lightness: walnut and bronze envelop the entrance with a warmth unaffected by the discreet light of m1 micro, whose body is completely integrated into the ceiling. The main room expands in a circular embrace of white ash. A nest suspended in silence, where every detail invites contemplation. Positioned in the concentric pattern of the ceiling are the n55 soffitto spotlights, designed by Marionanni for Viabizzuno, which – thanks to their compact design and white finish – manage to blend into the environment, allowing only the highest quality light to find its way into the room. On the lower floor, in the lounge dedicated to the tasting of spirits, arcoled profiles are concealed between the white travertine layers, each two metres long, which emphasise the three-dimensionality of the surfaces and the purity of the material with their linear distribution.
The bar – whose dark tones clearly distinguish it from the crisp spaces of the restaurant rooms – is immersed in an intimate and rarefied atmosphere.
Cilindro 58 barely emerges from the dimness of the ceiling, illuminating only enough the counter below. In the shelves dedicated to bottles of fine spirits, the linear 13x8 are perfectly integrated into the lower sides, maintaining the clean lines of the furnishings that characterise all the rooms.
Blanc is not just a restaurant, it is a journey into delicacy, a refuge where architecture, light and cuisine merge into an imperceptible melody, while leaving in the soul the memory of a beauty that touches the invisible.

‘Light is also an essential element of my cuisine. It beautifully illuminates my dishes, wine, and guests. Its presence is a fundamental part of my culinary philosophy. A restaurant is more than just a place for dining; it is a total work of art that engages not only taste but also sight and sensation. Together with architect Kengo Kuma, we have created Restaurant Blanc. ‘
