Inside palazzo Lares Permarini, in the heart of the eternal city, stands this new five-star hotel that offers its guests a true experience of Italian beauty.
The project for the restoration of the eight floors of this 1938 building, a stone’s throw from the altare della patria and the Campidoglio, was entrusted to Zanon Architetti Associati firm, which has preserved the rationalist lines, selecting prestigious finishes and sophisticated details.
The lighting design contributes to the creation of an intimate environment of refined elegance. The lobby welcomes hotel guests in the light of royal chandelier.
Continuing into the restaurant and the lounge bar, the rooms are characterised by large windows overlooking the main street, from which people passing by can see the precious finishes chosen for these rooms. On the ceiling, clean lines of traccia sistema with ecomini spotlights cut the surface providing dedicated lighting to each table, enhancing the colours and textures of the fabrics and materials of the furnishings. On each table a bulletta – designed by architect Mariano Zanoni for Viabizzuno specifically for this hotel – creates a more intimate atmosphere for guests.
Above the bar counter, a sequence of n55 sospensione with mk02 decorative diffuser enhances the ambience thanks to its preciously worked glass and brilliant inner cylinder. In the inner courtyard with its mediterranean tones, in addition to the intimate light of bulletta, linear fi 50 create a diffused lighting supported by a more focused illumination provided by the p1 wall spotlights.
In the rooms with wooden floors and Carrara marble bathrooms, roy, cilindro 58 and n55 h20 light fittings provide a comfortable ambience.
Iin the basement there is a hidden gem: a portion of a wall from the imperial era, which has made it possible to reconstruct the settlement of this area of the Roman urban plan. The light of cilindro 58 guides visitors inside and outside the hotel through this space.
To crown this extraordinary project, the skybar on the top floor offers a breathtaking panorama: while tasting a culinary experience, it is possible to enjoy a unique view of the historic centre of Rome accompanied by the delicate light of bulletta.

royal chandelier
Majestic and refined, royal chandelier was designed by David Chipperfield and Marionanni for Viabizzuno for the project of the high-class hotel café royal in London, realized by David Chipperfield Architects.
The exquisite finishes are combined with the brilliance of crystal and the softness of sandblasted glass, creating warm and welcoming lighting effects that are perfect for any kind of setting.
The royal product family also includes suspension, ceiling, wall and recessed versions.
bulletta
The aesthetics and name of bulletta, designed by architect Mariano Zanoni for Viabizzuno, comes from one of the oldest forms of decoration used in furniture making: the bulletta, which is a decorative head to make a simple nail more beautiful. bulletta is a battery table lamp, which allows maximum portability not only because of its size, but also because the diffuser can be removed from the body of the lamp, to obtain an additional light solution. Using the touch sensor integrated in the diffuser, it is possible to turn the lamp on and off and modulate the light. The lamp body is available in heights of 240 mm and 340 mm and, thanks to the single or three-module battery charger, the diffuser of bulletta can also be used while in charge, in both table and wall versions.
