the design for the new Viale Ceccarini, an iconic promenade in riccione, was created by studio Laprimastanza. here, two realities meet and enhance each other: nature and humankind.
nature provides the bright colours and soft, sinuous shapes that make the new Viale Ceccarini a lush, urban oasis of palm trees, succulent plants and shrubs, enhancing the iconic and charming avenue of historic pine trees.
there are many installations that evoke nature. the lighting effects are achieved by using stage spotlights on the palo ceccarini. this structure, developed through a collaboration between Laprimastanza and Viabizzuno, is a highly transparent polymethylmethacrylate polyhedron that is illuminated from above and below by special light sources. this makes it shine like a jewel, creating kaleidoscopic reflections and plays of light.
the pole structure is designed to support various devices, including spotlights, loudspeakers, security cameras and alarm systems.the lighting points interact with visitors, providing an immersive experience. numerous lucciola, which are small lighting points on thin carbon fibre rods of various heights, are installed in the lush green flowerbeds. swaying in the wind, they light up amongst the foliage according to pre-programmed sequences.in addition, a fibre-optic sound system connects the entire riccione area, bringing the music, sounds and ambiance of the city’s events to Viale Ceccarini and other streets. to maximise the lush undergrowth effect, geyser-like sprays of water will be released from the green flowerbeds.
from humankind comes the elegance of this open‑air urban lounge, a space unlike any other. the project − much like a botanical cutting − begins with select traces of the place’s authentic character, allowing them to grow into a new story.
inspiration was drawn from riccione’s history as a garden city in the early 20th century, a fashionable destination in the 1950s, and a spectacular setting in the 1980s and 1990s. a touch of modesty has been added to ensure that the revamped Viale Ceccarini is welcoming during the day and awe-inspiring at night.
new and unique street furniture has been introduced, including noble travertine stone paving that resembles fine embroidery and fully customised street furniture whose shapes are reminiscent of cliffs and waves. thanks to their burnished brass colour, this furniture also evokes elegance and exclusivity.
